We stumbled across this place on our drive to Canyon Lake. So glad we did. The owner was our server and she was so sweet. The food was amazing! We had a variety of food in our party and all were very impressed! Clean place as well. Great job. If we weren't from SD...we would be back!
We recently visited Live Oak Restaurant & Sports Grill with a large group—6 adults and 5 kids—and had a great experience! The adults in our party ordered the buffet, which included a fresh salad bar, crispy chicken strips, flavorful smothered onion steak, creamy mashed potatoes, corn, and tender green beans. Everything tasted homemade and well-seasoned. What really stood out was the hospitality—we were even given generous slices of German chocolate cake at the end, which was a sweet surprise and absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating despite our large group, and the atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!
Great place to grab some food! While on a recent road trip my family and I were passing through the town and looking to grab some food, with a quick google search for good restaurants this place had the best food pics hands down! An they didn’t disappoint! Burgers, seasoned fries, fried onion rings and chicken strips were so delicious! The staff was very very very friendly! Would definitely recommend it to others! Definitely will stop when passing through in the future!!!!

The flavors were spot on, and you can tell the kitchen knows what they’re doing. The service was just as amazing—the waitress was super attentive, almost like she could read my mind. She knew exactly when I was ready to order, and the food came out quickly, which I really appreciated. The parking lot was full of pickup trucks, and I was in a rental car, but as someone who normally drives a truck myself, I felt right at home. This isn’t your typical chain restaurant—it’s a well-run, local spot with a great atmosphere and excellent food. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
Great food. Absolutely, one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time. Bone in ham was the best. Stopped back again in the afternoon as I drove back to the RGV. Ordered a mushroom burger, and wings. Everything was great.
Stop here for lunch and very glad I did. The service from our waitress was beyond excellent. They had fried fish buffet but I was really wanting a burger and she suggested I believe it was called Moe's burger and it was very good my girlfriend loves chicken fried steak and love the one from here .....I also had the peach cobbler and the waitress heated it up for me and said the there was ice cream so I had that for dessert.....I'm definitely stopping here again....
I’ve been here a few time the blooming onion is amazing. The chicken fried steak, steak fingers, and chicken tenders are perfectly seasoned and fried. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the amazing food.
